Power of Attorney and Deceased Estates
Practical, compassionate support to sort, organise, clear and sell household belongings during significant life transitions.
What I Offer
I work with clients who are; preparing for a transition to a higher level of care, reducing possessions as part of estate planning, managing a deceased estate, or navigating the practical and emotional task of sorting a loved one's belongings.
I provide hands-on decluttering, home organisation, downsizing assistance, packing and unpacking services across the Cairns region, as well as assistance in selling belongings.
How I can assist.
During Estate Planning / Downsizing
Many clients wish to reduce the burden on their family in the future by simplifying their home and possessions while they are still able to make decisions themselves. You may be staying in your existing home, or in the process of downsizing or transitioning to a higher level of care. I can assist clients to gradually sort, categorise and reduce belongings, helping ensure that only meaningful, useful and wanted items remain.
After the Loss of a Loved One
Sorting a deceased estate can be physically exhausting, emotionally overwhelming and extremely time-consuming. I provide practical, compassionate assistance to help families work through belongings at a pace that suits them. I can step in at any stage of the process, whether the family requires help from the beginning or simply needs support to get the project finished due to limited time.
When Family Tensions Are Rising
Deceased estate work can sometimes create stress or conflict between family members. As an independent third party, I can help facilitate a structured, practical sorting process that keeps the project moving forward.
Protecting Important Documents, Sentimental Items and Valuables
I take a very thorough approach to sorting and carefully check belongings before anything is donated, sold or disposed of. Particular care is taken to identify and preserve personal items, family keepsakes, photographs, financial records, legal documents, jewellery and other potentially valuable items.
Where items may have significant monetary value, I work alongside a trusted local auctioneer who can assess and identify suitable items for auction, helping families avoid inadvertently disposing of assets that may be worth substantially more than expected.
Assistance With Selling Household Contents
Where appropriate, I can assist families with the sale of larger household items such as furniture, tools, equipment and other saleable belongings. This can help reduce the workload on executors and family members while also assisting with the efficient clearance of the property.
Sales assistance is generally offered on a commission basis outlined on my intake form.
Professional, Insured and Trusted
Families often entrust me with access to homes, personal records, financial documents and items of both sentimental and monetary value. For peace of mind, I operate as a registered Australian business with an ABN and hold public liability insurance.
I also hold an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, which includes a national criminal history check, and a Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card). These credentials reflect my commitment to professionalism, accountability and working safely with vulnerable members of the community.
My clients can be confident that I approach every home with respect, discretion and a high level of care.
No Job Too Big or Small
Whether a client requires assistance with a single room, a storage shed, or an entire property, I can tailor support to suit their needs.
